One of my earliest memories is of the day my mother said that my brother and two sisters had to take piano lessons and I, to my delight, did not because I was going to be an artist. Which I am -- and happy to be.
I graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design. I have worked in almost every medium. As the mother of two children, I learned and worked with my kids on a wide range of crafts. I taught myself wood carving, sewing and designed quilts, toys and clothing.
For the past 15 years most of my time has been spent gluing beads onto objects and making beaded pictures. I always felt like I was working on miniature mosaics. My latest interest is mosaics. So far I have only done one, but I am researching methods and materials.
