I am captivated by the possibilities of knitting and felting.  Inspired by the stunning colors and textures of commercial and hand-dyed wools and novelty yarns, I began to knit and felt sculptural vessels, wall hangings and other items.  I work with each vessel while it’s wet, sculpting it into its final shape.  Each finished piece suggests embellishments--needle-felting, beads, turned wood and other additions--which enhance the individual shapes, textures, and hues, and completing the transformation of each into a work of art.

Since attending a workshop on resist dyeing given by Chad Alice Hagen, my mind has been swimming with ideas for using this uniquely-dyed felt to create jewelry and to incorporate into larger felted pieces.  My Presentation Pins, the first in a new line of resist dyed jewelry, can enhance a garment or be displayed as object d’art on a small easel and canvas.
